Travel expense splitter

App version: 1.0 · Last updated: 29 July 2026

Summary: the app works without an account and without a connection. The journeys, amounts and names you enter are stored only in the phone's memory and are never sent to any server. The app shows no advertising and contains no analytics or tracking tools.

1. Controller

Juan Antonio Hernández López, NIF 23292835E, Pal Nacimiento 54, 30811 Fontanares (Murcia), Spain. Contact: info@nosceipsum.app. Full details in the legal notice.

2. What the app does

It records the costs of a car journey — fuel, tolls, parking and others — who paid each of them and who was travelling, and works out what each passenger owes to whom at the end of the trip. It is a calculator with a memory: everything happens on the device.

3. Data processed and where it stays

DataPurposeStored
Journeys, dates and descriptionsGrouping expenses per tripOn the device only
Amounts and expense typeCalculating the splitOn the device only
Names or nicknames of passengers, typed by the userAttributing each shareOn the device only
App preferences (currency, rounding, theme)Remembering your settingsOn the device only

This data does not leave the phone: it is not transmitted to the developer or to third parties, is not held on any server and is not synced to the cloud. The developer has no access to it at any point and therefore cannot read, recover or delete it.

The app requests no location, camera, microphone or contacts permissions. Should a future version need one, it will be requested explicitly and this policy updated beforehand.

If you enter another person's name, it is for you to tell them that you have noted it on your phone. Initials or nicknames are recommended.

4. Third parties

This version of the app integrates no third-party services: no advertising, analytics, crash reporting or social networks. Downloads happen through Google Play, whose data processing is governed by Google's privacy policy and is outside this app.

5. Retention

Data stays on the device for as long as the app is installed. You can delete an individual journey in the app, clear everything from Settings → Delete all data, or uninstall the app, which removes all its local storage. If you use Android's automatic backup, the copy is held in your Google account and its retention depends on that account's settings.

6. Your rights

The GDPR gives you rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection, and to withdraw consent where processing relies on it.

Because the app's data is only on your device, you exercise those rights directly in the app: you can view, correct, export and delete it without the developer's involvement. For anything else, write to info@nosceipsum.app; requests are answered within one month at most.

You may also complain to the Spanish Data Protection Agency (aepd.es).

7. Minors

The app is not aimed at children under 14 and does not knowingly collect their data.

8. Changes

Where a new version changes how data is processed — for instance by adding advertising, syncing or crash reporting — this page will be updated before release and the date changed. The version in force is always the one at this URL.
